What is Independent Legal Advice (ILA)
Independent legal advice is required in England to ensure that individuals fully understand the legal implications and consequences of their decisions, especially in complex legal matters such as contracts, wills, or property transactions. It helps safeguard against potential conflicts of interest and assures that individuals make informed choices that protect their legal rights and interests.
Services We Offer
Here at The ILA Company we can arrange a broad range of services to cover the majority of client requirements. If you require a service that is not listed, please contact us as we can likely arrange it.

Personal Guarantees
A legally binding promise made by an individual to assume responsibility for another person’s or a business’s debt or obligations if they fail to meet them.

Joint Borrower Sole Proprietor

Our Process
Five simple steps from booking to completion
Book directly online in a few minutes. Next day appointments are available, alongside advance bookings. Can’t find a slot? Contact us and we’ll assist.
Once booked, you’ll be asked to send across the documents relevant to your matter. Documents are needed at least 24 hours ahead of your meeting.
Onboarding checks are completed ahead of the meeting. You will be notified if further action is required from you.
Join by laptop, tablet or phone with a working camera. The solicitor will guide you through the advice in full, checking that everything is understood before you’re asked to proceed. This takes approximately 15 minutes.
If applicable, you’ll sign the relevant documentation during or immediately after the meeting. All relevant signed documents must then be posted to your ILA solicitor (single signed pages alone are not accepted). Your solicitor will countersign and forward everything to your conveyancer or other relevant party to progress your matter.
